Prayers before Communion

✨ Prayer of Preparation by St. Thomas Aquinas

Almighty and ever-living God, I approach the sacrament of Your only-begotten Son, our Lord Jesus Christ.
I come sick to the physician of life, unclean to the fountain of mercy, blind to the light of eternal brightness, poor and needy to the Lord of heaven and earth.
Therefore I ask You, most generous Lord: heal my infirmity, wash my uncleanness, enlighten my blindness, enrich my poverty, and clothe my nakedness, so that I may receive the Bread of Angels, the King of kings and Lord of lords, with such reverence and humility, such contrition and devotion, such purity and faith, such purpose and intention as is expedient for the salvation of my soul.

Short Personal Prayer

Lord Jesus, I believe You are truly present—Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. I am not worthy, but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed. Receive me into Your Heart, and never let me be separated from You.
